Atul Shah is a distinguished plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in the management of leprosy-related deformities and reconstructive surgery. He serves as Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai, and has been Honorary Professor of Plastic Surgery at Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals. He is the Founder Member and Director of the Novartis Comprehensive Leprosy Care Association and has served as President of the Indian Association of Leprologists.
His work has focused on reconstructive surgery, disability prevention, early diagnosis, and rehabilitation for persons affected by leprosy. He has collaborated with the National Leprosy Eradication Programme and international organizations to strengthen leprosy care and has contributed to professional education through scientific workshops, national training programs, and publications on leprosy management.
His contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Association of Leprologists, the International Gandhi Award, and the REACH Game Changing Innovator Award.
